Mixing Madness

As some sixth-form students may know, we have the ability to set up and run our own Elevate groups for Wednesday afternoons. One such group is the newly formed Audio Mixing Club, founded by Year 13 student, Ioannis Siriotis (pictured above).

Under Ioannis’ expert tuition, members from both Years 12 and 13 can learn the ins and outs of recording all sorts of instruments and singers, and then taking these recordings and creating a fully finished mix that's ready for release. All members have access to new school Macbooks, each equipped with Logic Pro - an industry standard DAW (digital audio workspace) - as well as the music department's extensive variety of microphones, headphones and other gear. Whilst detours into discussions of  “coffee theory” may be an occasional problem, we assure you that the club will give you a great foundational skill set in the world of mixing.

Having been established at the start of this term, Audio Mixing is the newest addition to the roster of Elevate options, joining the likes of Dungeons & Dragons and LevTimes, both of which are now in their second year of running.
